Steven Chapman, a native Texan, joined the U.S. Army in 1966. In 1968 he became a U.S. Army Aviator, and in October 1968, he was sent to Vietnam, where he saw action in the U Minh Forest. He served with B Troop, 7/1 Air Cav Blackhawk Squadron as an Aviator, and with B Troop “Dutch Masters” 7/1 Air Cav as a Slick Pilot. Upon his return from Vietnam, Mr. Chapman served at Fort Ord, California, and served as the Company Commander for C Company, 7th B.N., 2nd Training BDE. Fort Knox, Kentucky until his retirement in 1972.
